The Berlinale takes place from February 5 to February 15, and the movie will have its world premiere there. Fingers crossed for Rob to be available to make an appearance!

In Queen of the Desert, the one-time Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson plays Lawrence of Arabia, aka T.E. Lawrence, alongside star Nicole Kidman as explorer, writer, archeologist and British Intelligence officer Gertrude Bell. "Pruss helped Ingelsby get his Low Dweller spec seen around town, and this is his third project with the writer, after Hold On To Me, which James Marsh is directing this fall, and The Signal, which is being developed by Paramount."

Our friends RPAustralia who have access to IMDB Pro tells us that the film is still listed as "Optioned". Wait until we learn more, but this little mention gives hope. The film is not completely forgotten.

Last month when we chatted with director James Gray, he cautioned that the fate of his long developing "The Lost City Of Z" depended on how things panned out at this weeks American Film Market. He already put a good foot forward, landing Benedict Cumberbatch for a starring role in the film, and it hopefully this latest bit of casting can put it over the top.
Screen Daily reveals in their print issue from the floor of AFM, that Robert Pattinson is also on board the movie, that Panorama Media is financing and selling rights for as well. The movie is being produced by Brad Pitt's shingle Plan B (he was going to star in a previous iteration of the film before it fell apart at Paramount) and is an adaptation of David Grann's book tell the story of English soldier-turned-explorer Colonel Percy Harrison Fawcett, whose obsession with the Amazon and belief that an ancient civilization resided there led him on many expeditions where he narrowly escaped death. After financing eventually dried up, Fawcett self-funded one last adventure into the Amazon with his son, from which neither returned. We presume Cumberbatch will play Fawcett, and while there's no word yet on Pattinson's role, perhaps he'll play the son?
As for the tone of the picture, Gray had said to us he's aiming for the epic scale of David Lean but with a “slightly more hallucinogenic feel. Because [the protagonist] went to the jungle and sorta went mad.” So yes, fingers crossed this gets rolling in 2014.
Meanwhile, in case you were worried, Pattinson is still attached to Werner Herzog's "Queen Of The Desert." Recent trade reports about the movie notably didn't have his name among the cast of Nicole Kidman and Damian Lewis, but rest assured he'll be there. And 2014 spent working with Herzog and Gray? La dernière mise à jour sur 'Queen of the Desert' donnait janvier comme date de début de tournage. Le site Deadline annonce désormais décembre comme début de la production. Pour une fois le changement est en notre faveur. Damian Lewis de la série 'Homeland' (Nicolas Brody) s'ajouterait normalement au casting et devrait incarner le rôle du Colonel Charles Doughty-Wylie qui a partagé une histoire tumultueuse avec Gertrude Bell, qui sera toujours interprétée par Nicole Kidman. The UK-born Lewis won’t have to hide his homegrown accent for the feature: He will play Lt. Col. Charles Doughty-Wylie, an unhappily married English war hero who engages in a turbulent affair with Gertrude Bell (Kidman), with whom he exchanged love letters with from 1913-1915 until he was killed in active duty at Gallipoli. 

Production is scheduled to begin in December.

Queen Of The Desert refers to Bell, the iconic explorer, writer, archeologist and attaché for the British Empire who is credited with helping to catalyze the formation of the Middle East at the dawn of the 20th century. Nick Raslan is producing through his Palmyra Films banner along with Cassian Elwes and Michael Benaroya. Benaroya Pictures banner is financing the film. Jesper Ganslandt a été choisi pour diriger Robert Pattinson dans le thriller psychologique 'Mission: Blacklist', sur un jeune et brillant interrogateur militaire qui a mené la capture de Saddam Hussein. The Swedish invasion into Hollywood continues. Jesper Ganslandt has been tapped to direct Robert Pattinson in the psychological thriller 'Mission: Blacklist', about a brilliant young military interrogator who spearheads the capture of Saddam Hussein. Pic is based on the life of soldier-turned-intelligence agent Eric Maddox, who funneled his experiences into the 2008 nonfic book 'Mission: Black List #1 – The Inside Story of the Search for Saddam Hussein – As Told by the Soldier Who Masterminded His Capture.' The Code Entertainment project was first announced last year in Cannes back when Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire was set to direct. Following Sauvaire’s departure Ganslandt stepped in and will make his English-language debut after directing three features, 'Blondie', 'The Ape', and 'Falkenberg Farewell', in his native Sweden. Filming is scheduled for the fall.

Je ne suis pas certain que ça se fasse vu qu'ils essaient de régler des problèmes d'agenda, mais le film 'Queen Of The Desert' de Werner Herzog  voit James Franco tourner autour du rôle que Jude Law devait jouer. Si vous vous souvenez, Herzog a choisi Naomi Watts et Robert Pattinson pour jouer dans cette histoire sur la vie de Gertrude Bell, voyageuse, écrivaine, archéologue, exploratrice, cartographe, et attachée politique de l'Empire britannique à l'aube du 20ème siècle. Law avait signé pour le film, mais s'est retiré il ya quelque temps pour interpréter le rôle d'Henry V, et le projet s'est alors retrouvé à l'arrêt. Obtenir un engagement de Franco permettrait de remettre le film sur les rails. Attendons de voir. If you recall, Herzog lined up Naomi Watts and Robert Pattinson to star in the story of Gertrude Bell’s life as a traveler, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer, and political attaché for the British Empire at the dawn of the 20th Century. Law had signed on to the film, but exited awhile ago to do the play Henry V, and the project ground to a halt. Getting a commitment from Franco would put the picture back on track. Stay tuned. 'The Rover': 3 Nouveaux Acteurs Rejoignent Rob sur le Projet / 3 New costars join Rob in the Project

Rob Pattinson est en plein tournage poussiéreux dans le sud australien avec le réalisateur d''Animal Kingdom' Michôd David, qui a commencé le tournage du son thriller à combustion lente mardi dernier. Robert Pattinson, qui a terminé ses fonctions en tant que le vampire Edward Cullen en Novembre dernier avec 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn partie II', joue aux côtés de Guy Pearce da,s 'The Rover', le rôle de Reynolds, un membre d'un gang de voleurs qui est laissé derrière après un travail bâclé. Pearce joue Eric, qui enrôle Reynolds pour l'aider à retrouver sa voiture qui  lui a été volé par le gang. Les acteurs australiens Susan Prior (Animal Kingdom), Gillian Jones (Oscar et Lucinda), et David Field (Chopper) se joignent à Pattinson, Pearce, Scoot McNairy, et Anthony Hayes dans pour le projet, écrit par Michod, d'après une histoire de Michôd et l'acteur Joel Edgerton de 'Zero Dark Thirty'. Liz Watts produit pour Porchlight Films et David Linde pour Lava Bear Films. FilmNation a pris les droits et va représenter le film lors des ventes aux États-Unis avec UTA Independent Film Group.

Rob Pattinson is in for a dusty South Australian shoot with Animal Kingdom director David Michôd, who began filming the slow burn thriller last Tuesday. Pattinson, who completed his Edward Cullen vampire duties last November with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II, stars alongside Guy Pearce in The Rover as Reynolds, a member of a gang of thieves who is left behind after a botched job. Pearce plays Eric, who enlists Reynolds to help track down his car when it’s stolen by the thugs. Australian actors Susan Prior (Animal Kingdom), Gillian Jones (Oscar And Lucinda), and David Field (Chopper) join Pattinson, Pearce, Scoot McNairy, and Anthony Hayes in the pic, written by Michôd from a story by Michôd and Zero Dark Thirty actor Joel Edgerton. Liz Watts is producing for Porchlight Films and David Linde for Lava Bear Films. FilmNation took most global rights and will rep the film on U.S. sales with UTA Independent Film Group.
