Nous attendions une confirmation officielle pour parler de cette rumeur qui circule depuis bientôt une semaine, et d'après le site Production Weekly, Rob fait bien parti du casting du projet 'Damsel', un western/comédie dirigé par les frères Zellner et dont le tournage devrait débuter ce 12 Juillet jusqu'au 2 Septembre! Le film est décrit comme un western comédie à propos d'un homme qui essaie d'épouser la femme de ses rêves. Annoncée au casting aux cotés de Rob, l'actrice Mia Wasikowska, une de ses amies avec qui il avait déjà tourné dans 'Maps to the Stars'. Tout deux devaient déjà travailler ensemble l'année dernière dans un western nommé 'Brimstone' mais ils n'avaient pas pu aller au bout du projet. C'est donc une nouvelle opportunité de les voir réunis pour un western. Et en plus une comédie! Nous sommes plus que ravies de voir enfin Rob dans une comédie! Genre dans lequel nous sommes sur qu'il va exceller! Il semblerait que ce soit pour ce film que Rob se soit fait faire de fausses dents en argent (lire ici). Nous n'en savons pour le moment pas plus sur ce nouveau projet mais ne manquerons pas de vous tenir informé! 

We were waiting for an official confirmation about this rumor going around for almost a week, and according to Production Weekly's website, Rob is part of the cast of the project 'Damsel', a western/comedy directed by Zellner brothers and which filming is expected to begin on July 12 until September 2! The movie is described as a western comedy about a man who is trying to marry the woman of his dreams. Announced in the cast alongside Rob, actress Mia Wasikowska, one of his friends with whom he has already work in 'Maps to the Stars'. They both were already casted to work together last year in a western called 'Brimstone' but they were not able to do this project. Here is a new opportunity to see them together for a Western. And a comedy! We are more than excited to finally see Rob in a comedy! A sort of movie in which we are sure he will excel! It seems that it is for this movie that Rob is going to have two fake silver teeth (read here). We don't know much about this new project for the moment but will certainly keep you update!

Prenant place dans une France post 1ère guerre mondiale, menant à la signature du traité de Versailles en 1919, ce drame familial et psychologique donne un point de vue sur la montée du fascisme. Le père, joué par Liam Cunningham, a été envoyé d'Amérique par le président Wilson pour aider à la négociation du traité. Lui, sa femme, jouée par Bérénice Bejo et leur jeune fils, Prescott, joué par l'acteur britannique Tom Sweet, sont engagés dans un jeu de pouvoirs qui révèlent à la fois les manipulations du garçon auprès de ses ainés et la cruauté instinctive qu'exercent ses parents en voulant freiner l'attitude indomptable de leur fils.

La bande originale menaçante et tonitruante de Scott Walker est presque un personnage en elle même, et les images granuleuses en 35-mm renforcent l'interaction entre la lumière et l'obscurité. Cunningham, comme Pattinson, est admiratif de l'aisance et de l'autorité de Corbet: "C'est la première fois de toute ma vie que je rencontre une personne aussi cinéphile. "Good Time"“Heaven Knows What” des Safdie Brothers avait été une surprise totale — un film dont très peu était au courant jusqu'à ce qu'il fasse son avant-première à Venise il y a deux ans  et qui a coupé le souffle de tout le monde. Le duo a tourné son dernier film au début de l'année, un thriller façon film d'exploitation parlant d'un voleur de banque qui essaie de ne pas se faire prendre, ank robber trying to stay free, avec un soutien de première classe avec la star Robert Pattinson. Le film est fini de tourné depuis un moment, et vu que leur passif  avec Venise, ’s long since wrapped, and given their history at Venice, on compte bien les voir là bas une nouvelle fois en compétition.

Il faut bien l'avouer, après que la bande annonce réservée aux ventes fuite un peu plus tôt cette année, nous nous attendions à voir "The Lost City of Z" de James Gray à Cannes, sachant qu'il est très apprécié là bas. Mais le film n'était apparemment pas prêt, ce qui serait parfait pour une avant-première à Venise pour le film d'aventure, avec Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland et (*soupir résigné*) Charlie Hunnam. Gray était resté fidèle à Cannes depuis “The Yards” il y a 16 ans mais “Little Odessa” avait gagné un Lion d'argent au Lido de Venise, et c'est ce qui semblerait le plus probable pour le moment. Aller au Toronto Film Festival serait possible aussi, mais Venise nous sommes plus probable pour nous.

"Good Time"
The Safdie Brothers’ “Heaven Knows What” was a total surprise — a film that few were aware of until it premiered at Venice two years ago and proceeded to blow everybody’s socks off. The duo shot their latest film at the start of the year, a ‘neo-grindhouse’ crime thriller about a bank robber trying to stay free, with some A-list backing thanks to star Robert Pattinson. The film’s long since wrapped, and given their history at Venice, we reckon we’ll see them there again this time in the main competition.

"The Lost City Of Z"
We have to say, after a sales trailer leaked earlier in the year, we were expecting to see James Gray’s “The Lost City Of Z” at Cannes, given that he’s such a favorite there. But word is it wasn’t ready, which would appear to make a Venice debut for the director for his period adventure, starring Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland and (*resigned sigh*) Charlie Hunnam, more likely. Gray’s stuck to Cannes since “The Yards” sixteen years ago but “Little Odessa” won the Silver Lion on the Lido, and the stage would seem to be set for a return in that direction. Going straight to TIFF could be possible too, but Venice seems very likely to us.
