Robert Pattinson fut la star de la soirée ce jeudi soir lors du 6ème GO GO Gala annuel.

Le co-fondateur du GO campaign et le PDG Scott Fifer a remercié Pattinson au nom de 25 jeunes filles cambodgiennes défavorisées, qu'il a aidé indirectement avec une contribution lors d'une vente aux enchères. L'acteur a offert une visite et une rencontre sur le tournage de 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn' qu'il a mis aux enchères sur le net il y a deux ans, et qui a été vendu à une femme de Chicago pour 80 000$. Ce financement a permis la création d'un programme d'aide à l'éducation des filles (PAGE) au Cambodge.

"Ça a été incroyable de voir combien une enchère venant d'une personne de la communauté Hollywoodienne pouvait changer la vie de jeunes filles pour toujours," a raconté Fifer avant le gala.

La maison "PAGE" va passer de 25 à 35 filles au début de l'année prochaine.

La star de 'Twilight' a poursuivi ses actes de générosité en participant à la vente aux enchères organisée la nuit dernière. Pattinson a enchéri 5.600 dollars pour un violoncelle fait à partir de matériaux recyclés (construit par l'Orchestre Paraguayen de Cateura). L'évènement a permis de récolter plus de 500 000 dollars.

Robert Pattinson was the toast of the town Thursday night at the sixth annual GO GO Gala.

GO Campaign co-founder and CEO Scott Fifer thanked Pattinson on behalf of the 25 impoverished Cambodian girls he indirectly helped with an auction contribution. The actor donated a meet-and-greet on the set of 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn' for the non-profit’s online auction two years ago that sold to woman in Chicago for $80,000. That funding led to the creation of a Program Advancing Girls’ Education (PAGE) in Cambodia.
"It’s been remarkable how one auction item from a person in the Hollywood community can translate into changing the lives of girls forever," Fifer said before the gala.

The PAGE home will expand from 25 to 35 girls early next year.

The 'Twilight' star continued his charitable streak by participating in the liveliest auction of the night. Pattinson bid $5,600 to win a cello made out of recycled material (built by Paraguay’s Recycled Orchestra of Cateura). The overall event raised more than $500,000.

Bravo Robert Pattinson for using your celebrity to help the Go Campaign to give the world’s children a brighter future and by continuing to contribute generously, as recently as the Nov. 14 GO GO Gala, by bidding with enthusiasm at the night’s live auction. 

More than 200 guests – Pattinson included – converged on the Bel-Air Bay Club in the Pacific Palisades for the charity’s annual Gala. Combining ticket and auction sales, the affair raised more than $500,000 to help children in need everywhere by providing them with homes, education, rehabilitation, safety from sex trafficking and more.

“I can’t forget what Rob Pattinson did for us that had  tremendous impact,” Fifer said from onstage. “Two years ago, Rob generously donated a ‘meet & greet’ on the set of  ’Twilight Breaking Dawn’ for our online auction. And so we put it on Charity Buzz (charitybuzz.com) and it sold to a woman in Chicago for $80,000.”

After recounting the success of the girls’ home, Fifer added, “So Rob, there are 25 girls in Cambodia who wouldn’t forgive me if I didn’t just say thank you. Thank you for your kindness.” 

So was the meet & greet worth $80,000 to the buyer? Apparently so.

In a subsequent conversation, Fifer said that same woman later paid handsomely for an advance screening of the film.

MON VERDICT : Robert a rejoint son ami producteur Adam Shankman hier soir au GO GO Gala, une collecte de fonds annuelle Hollywoodienne pour la campagne de GO, à Los Angeles où il s'est paré d'un nouveau costume bleu. Après avoir choisi un costume bleu royal il y a quelques semaines, l'acteur de 27 ans, a opté pour une veste à revers à deux boutons et un pantalon de la marque Gucci dans une teinte marine-turquoise. Rob est venu en mode décontracté en décidant de ne pas porter de cravate mais plutôt une chemise à col ouvert de couleur grise. J'aime l'idée, mais le col était un peu froissé, et j'aurais souhaité qu'on lui laisse le temps de boutonner sa veste avant que la photo ne soit prise, mais ce n'est pas très important. Je continu de penser que cet homme a un certain talent pour choisir des costumes dans les plus belles nuances.

Des chaussures brillantes de soirée, des cheveux ébouriffés parfaitement imparfaits, et un bouc intéressant complétaient son look. Je me demande si c'est pour un rôle ou bien si c'était juste l'envie d'essayer. Ça me fait penser à son look lors de la tournée promo de 'Breaking Dawn - Part 1'. Et vous qu'en pensez vous?

MY VERDICT: Robert joined his producer pal Adam Shankman last night at the GO GO Gala, an annual Hollywood fundraiser for the GO Campaign, in Los Angeles where he donned yet another blue suit. After selecting a royal blue number a few weeks ago, the 27-year-old actor opted for a two-button notch lapel jacket and trousers by Gucci in a navy-teal blend. Rob was obviously feeling casual vibes as he passed on a tie in favor of a open neck deep earl grey button down shirt. I like the idea, but the collar was a little wrinkled–and I wish someone had given him time to button the jacket before the photo was snapped, but it’s not a big deal. I still think this man has a knack for selecting suits in the most beautiful shades.

Shiny dress shoes, perfectly imperfect mussed hair, and a interesting goatee completed his look. I wonder if that’s for a role or something he’s just trying out. This reminds me of his look on the 'Breaking Dawn – Part 1' tour. What do you all think of it?

Pattinson a pris un verre au bar avant de discuter avec des amis durant l'heure du cocktail. R.Pattz était souriant et bavardait avec un groupe d'amis, il semblait très animé et de bonne humeur tout en se mêlant aux invités et en soutenant l'association.

Pattinson s'est assis pour le diner où il a continué à discuter avec les personnes présentes à sa table alors que l'hôte de l'évènement, Adam Shankman, commençait le spectacle. La star de 27 ans a mangé et bu tout en discutant avec une femme assise à côté de lui pendant le diner.

A un moment durant la soirée, le co-fondateur de l'association Scott Fifer a remercié Pattinson d'avoir donné un prix pour les enchères sur internet il y a plusieurs années (un chanceux enchérisseur a payé 85.000 dollars pour une visite du tournage de Twilight et une rencontre avec lui!) et Rob a rougi et souri alors que la salle l'applaudissait.

Pattinson sat down to dinner where he continued to chat with folks at his table as event host Adam Shankman began the show. The 27-year-old star ate and drank while chatting with a female pal sitting next to him during the bash. 

At one point during the night, charity co-founder Scott Fifer thanked Pattinson for being one of the online auction prizes several years ago (a lucky bidder paid $85,000 for a Twilight set visit to meet him!) and Rob blushed and smiled as the crowd cheered for him.
