Rob et David Cronenberg parlent de "Map to the Stars"/ Rob & David talk about "Map to th Stars"

Alors quoi de prévu pour vous deux après Cosmopolis? Vous êtes supposés travailler de nouveau ensemble tous les deux sur "Map To The Stars", une adaptation du roman "As She Climbed Across the Table" de Jonathan Lethem. C'est confirmé, n'est ce pas?

Cronenberg: ça l'est? Vous avez trouvé le financement? Pouvez-vous venir avec l'argent (rires)?

Pattinson: Vous en savez sans doute plus que moi! Je veux le faire. Je vais commencer à en parler pour obtenir des financements!

Cronenberg: ça a crée une sorte d'intérêt à vrai dire, rien que d'en parler ça compte. C'est un script brillant écrit par un de mes amis, qui est le romancier Bruce Wagner – il a écrit le script il y a quelques temps et on a essayé de le faire il y a cinq ans mais ça n'a pas réussi. Ca fait parti des très bons scripts. D'une certaine façon c'est assez proche de Cosmopolis – ce ne sera pas facile à vendre. C'est intense d'une façon pénible et perturbante et il y a de l'émotion, mais c'est une émotion étrange, comme c'est le cas pour Cosmopolis je pense. A la fin du film, Cosmopolis est étrangement, bizarrement, triste et émotionnel, et ça vous perturbe, parce que vous n'imaginiez pas que ça en arriverait jusque là, et c'est de cette façon que je l'ai ressenti en lisant le livre. C'est dur de faire des films difficiles, et même quand vous avez des acteurs crédibles qui apportent beaucoup d'attention et tout – Viggo Mortensen veut jouer un rôle dedans (Map to the Stars) – et avec ces deux gars-là vous pourriez penser "Hey, 15 millions ce n'est pas un problème", mais ça ne fonctionne pas comme ça."

On espère qu'ils trouveront les financements et que ça se fera!

"What’s next for you both? The two of you are supposed to be working together again on Map To The Stars, an adaptation of Jonathan Lethem’s novel As She Climbed Across the Table. That’s all been confirmed to go, right?

Cronenberg: Is it? Did you find the financing? Can you come up with the money (laughs)?

Pattinson: You probably know better than me! I want to do it. I’m going to start talking about it to get some financing!

Cronenberg: It has created some interest in it actually, just talking about it and weirdly enough that counts. There is a brilliant script by a friend of mine who’s a novelist Bruce Wagner – he wrote the script some time ago and tried to get it to happen five years ago and I couldn’t get it made. It’s one of those great scripts. In a way it’s a lot like Cosmopolis – it’s not an easy sell. It’s edgy in a nasty, disturbing way and it has emotion, but it’s a weird emotion, just like Cosmopolis I think. By the end of the movie, Cosmopolis is strangely, weirdly, sad and emotional, and it creeps up on you , because you don’t think it’s ever going to go there, and that’s how the book struct me as well. It’s hard to make difficult movies, and even when you have credible actors who bring a lot of intention and stuff – Viggo Mortensen wants to play another role in {Map To The Stars} – and with those two guys you’d think it would be “Hey, fifteen million here is no problem,” but it’s not like that."

We hope they will find the financing and that this film will be made!
